A newborn girl was found buried alive near a creek in Compton on Friday after two women walking by heard the sounds of a baby crying. Officials at the scene found the infant had been placed inside a shallow hole along a bike path, the LA County Sheriff’s Department said. She was covered under pieces of rubble.
“The baby was wrapped in a blanket and cold to the touch,”

Sgt. Marvin Jaramilla of the sheriff's Special Victims Bureau told Fox 13. “They checked her vital signs and called for paramedics."

The baby girl was later said to be in stable condition at a hospital. She was estimated to have been born only 36 to 48 hours before.
